This Martis site (2000 BC–500 AD) near Donner Summit is one of the few rock-art locations made accessible to the public. Most site locations remain confidential to protect them from vandalism. The Donner site lies along what would have been a trans-Sierra travel route connecting the east and west sides of the range, and it overlooks Donner Lake. Visitors will notice the interpretive signage installed at the site by FSRA and partner organizations..
